Tranquilizing
Should I tranquilize my pet for his trip?
No, veterinary research has learned that tranquilizing a pet when it will travel by air can be fatal.
Feeding & watering
When can I feed and water my pet before the trip?
You should not feed or water your pet 4 hours before departure.
Hereby avoiding vomiting or messing up the kennel during the trip.
Aircraft hold
Is the cargo hold where my pet is loaded suited for animals?
Yes, there are special holds that can be temperature and ventilation controlled at the same pressure and temperature as in the passenger cabin.
The pilot will always be notified about the presence of live animals on the aircraft.
Kennel
Can I train my pet to feel comfortable in the kennel?
Yes, if you start using the kennel a few weeks before the trip to let your pet sleep in it this helps your pet to feel more at home in it.
Do I need specific kennels for my pet’s air travel? And where can I get these?
Yes, you will need to use IATA accepted kennels, please check with us before departure to avoid last minute stress. We have 6 sizes in stock, reserve yours in time.
Special documentation
Do I need special documentation for my pet to travel?
Yes, but this depends on the destination, you can use the expertise of the Pet Travel Clinic service to assist you through the whole process
Accessories
Can I attach pet food, a leach or toys on the kennel?
We would advise not to do so as many airlines don´t accept this for security reasons.
Medicines
Will someone be able to give my pet his medicine during the trip?
No, unfortunately this is impossible, check with your vet if this could be problem.
Volume weight
What is volume weight?
This is the calculated volume your travel kennel is using in the cargo hold. Usually this is much higher than the actual weight of the kennel including the pet.
